STEM Program Welcomes Mach-20 Defense Consulting Experts

The ICS STEM program welcomed Dr. Jesse Margiotta and Ms. Danielle Margiotta to information about the experiences that led them to launch the  consulting firm Mach-20
The Indian Creek School STEM Program hosted guest speakers Dr. Jesse Margiotta (Chief Scientist and Co-Founder), and Ms. Danielle Margiotta (Vice President of Operations), who shared information about the experiences that led them to launch the  consulting firm Mach-20 in 2019.  Mach-20 provides consulting to the Department of Defense and DARPA.

Both Dr. and Ms. Margiotta attended Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland, prior to graduate school. Jesse earned his Ph.D. in material science from Johns Hopkins University and is known as a leader in the hypersonics community, focusing on methods to make superior refractory materials. He has held various technical consulting roles for the Department of Defense, including lead technical advisor on many DARPA projects and subject matter expert for most current hypersonic missile development programs.

Danielle earned her Master’s Degree in Chemistry from George Mason University, and has 15 years of experience as a chemical engineer and program analyst at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). She played a lead role in selecting materials and application processes for spacecraft coatings tailored to thermal protection during the extreme temperature swings and harsh environments encountered in space. During her time at NASA she also participated in a successful spacecraft launch campaign at Kennedy Space Center.

The speakers encouraged students to work hard, take risks, learn from failures, be open to new opportunities, and remember that your life is more than your career.  The ICS STEM program thanks Jesse and Danielle for sharing their insight with Indian Creek students.
